{ An old charming house - ready for sale }

I´ve been busy getting a house ready for sale these last few days, and I thought I could show you some pictures of this old charming house that belongs to my fiancé´s grandmother...

I removed every personal photos and items, rearranged the furniture a bit and took away some of the carpets to make rooms look bigger. I also filled the house with fresh flowers from the garden, which did wonders to the rooms.

Lilacs are defiantly my favorite this time of year. They smell amazing and they give such summery feeling into the room.

Old furniture certainly have their charm. I love how elegant these green and brown furniture are.

The chandelier and the lovely dining furniture really makes a statement in the dining room, don´t you think?

Details from the kitchen.

Old houses have so much charm I think, and it´s important to maintain that charm when it out for sale as well. I hope the people that will buy this house take good care of this lovely home...

Time really flies - I can´t believe it´s Friday already. Any great plans that I should know about?
Happy weekend everyone!

{ Pukka tea }

I always appreciate a good cup of tea when it´s cold outside, on rainy days or especially now that I´m with the flu. I have many to choose from but this week my favorite is my newly bought Pukka Cleanse. It´s refreshing with its peppermint and it´s suppose to purify my skin as well. I have some pimples that I need to get rid of - let´s hope it works!

I´ve bought several types of Pukka Tea, and I find their taste very good as well as I love their cute boxes. Design is important, right?

Have you ever tasted Pukka tea? Any favorites?

{ Decorate }

Hello everybody! How are you? I´m still in my bed with the flu, and since I didn´t take it as easy as I should this weekend I´m actually feeling worse than I did on Friday. I hate being sick - my head is thinking of everything that I should have been doing, but my body says no. In addition I lost my voice, so it´s a quiet world I´m living in right now... Thank god I can speak with you! *smile*

The good thing about being sick is that I have time to do the things that I normally don´t have time for... As for example reading magazines and books, and today I will finally read Holly Becker´s book "Decorate". I´ve had it for a while now, but I have been saving it for a time where I can relax and enjoy it from start to end with a good cup of tea (or two?), and what could be a better time than now? I looked through the pages when I got it of course, and it looks like an adventure! I know I will love it, because I love Holly´s blog Decor8 and she is such a fabulous writer with good knowledge and great taste.

Did you buy her book yet? I´ll tell you more about what I think of it when I´m done.

Wish you all a great new week.

{ Norway´s National Day! }

Hello everybody! It seems like "Blogger" (my blog platform) is finally working again, so I can continue blogging. I´ve been away visiting my mother this weekend, so I haven´t been able to blog anyway though. Instead we went shopping and had a great time together... I love my mom so much - she is the sweetest!

Anyway, I´m looking forward to celebrate Norway´s National Day tomorrow - one of my favorite days of the year! I´m crossing my fingers that it will be a sunny day so we can fully enjoy it.

And for you Norwegians; Here you have some inspiration on how you can set the table if you are having guests tomorrow. A simple table setting in red, white and blue.

{ Blomus - pure wellness }

Yesterday I discovered a new store in Drammen called Ambiente, which has a lot of great brands such as Lexington, VIPP, Georg Jensen Damask, Koziol, Sonoro and Kähler. They also had these cool fireplaces for Ethanol fuel that I fell in love with from Blomus. Blomus is a new brand to me so I had to check them out,  and I have to say they have a pretty amazing collection...

I wouldn´t mind at all to have a fireplace like this inside or outside. It´s truly elegant!

So do you see anything you like? This is only some of their collection, but you can see more here.

{ DIY: Homemade napkins }

Usually, I use paper napkins when I set the table, but I also find fabric napkins very pretty. Therefore I decided to make myself some new napkins with a personal touch...

I used linen fabric and sewed napkins in size 35x35cm. Then I used stencils and simply painted on the word EAT using fabric paint.

I also tied a ribbon around the appetizer bowl and put a flower on the top to make it extra pretty.

I hope this gave you some inspiration and the motivation to make your own napkins. It is pretty straight forward to do, and it can be used in so many different settings. An idea could be to make napkins with the guest´s name for your wedding or birthday party. Do you have any good suggestions?

{ Nostalgia }

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend was as great and sunny as mine. It stared out with four flea markets on Saturday morning with two dear friends. Although we had a blast running from place to place to find those special treasures, we unfortunately didn´t find much this weekend...

What I did found though were these lovely German "Blau saks" coffee cups from 1869. I love this pattern, and I hope that I will find some more so I can set the dinner table some day with this beautiful dinnerware.

Do you have a favorite dinnerware that you collect?

A warm thank you to all of you that gave me such good feedback on my new feminine corner. I´m very happy with it myself, and I´m happy that I kept the desk as it was when I bought it on the flea market.

{ My new feminine corner }

Tomorrow I´m going to a new flea market again, and I hope I will find more treasures like this desk that I found last weekend. I have now moved the desk into our bedroom, and I´m even more happy with it now that I´ve made myself this little feminine corner...

Are you planning on going to any flea markets this weekend? Make sure to share your great finds on Stylizimo.com. I would love to see if you found any goodies.

Happy weekend everybody!

{ Outdoor furniture }

Although I make my own furniture for the balcony doesn´t mean that I´m not dreaming of "real" outdoor furniture. Home&Cottage released their new catalogue yesterday and it´s filled with furniture and decoration that I would love to have! Just see for yourself....

I love the look of this white rustic table. I bet it looks great in the kitchen/dining room as well as outside. The chairs looks very comfy and make a great contrast to the white table.

Pink is always so delightful this time of year. I can almost smell the flowers when I look at this dreamy picture - just lovely!

Blue is fresh and clean, and reminds me of the ocean. Oh, I wish I had many balconies, so I could have all of these color combinations... sigh!

Although I love them all, I think the first one and this last one are my favorites. I like the roughness and the neutral colors.

So, what to you think? Do you see anything you like? I hope at least you got some inspiration from these beautifully styled pictures on which color theme you want to have this year.

DIY: Pallet sofa

Thank you so much for your input on my flea market find yesterday. I appreciate your thoughts, and I will absolutely think twice before I paint it. I´ll probably keep it as it is - at least for now *smile*

Anyway I thought I would show you our "pallet sofa" on our balcony today. I have made one out of two pallets covered with pillows and throws.
As a table I have used an old wooden crate, so I can decorate with flowers and candles, or simply to have a place to put my coffee.

So if you have a small budget for your outside area this year, maybe you can make something similar to my pallet sofa? It´s actually very comfortable to relax in.

Do you have any other pallet ideas?  Why don´t you share them on Stylizimo.com?
You can see our headboard out of pallets here.

{ Flea market find }

On Saturday I went to a flea market here in Oslo and I happened to find this beautiful old desk. Since I was little I´ve always wanted a desk like this and now I finally have one!
What do you think of the desk? Should I keep it as it is, or should I paint it? I´m thinking white maybe.... Please come with suggestions - I would love to hear what you think.

Have you been to any flea markets lately? Any great finds?

{ Table for four }

Hello everybody! How was your weekend? Mine started with a very nice Friday night with friends over for dinner. I showed you a little peek of the table on Friday, but here you have some more photos as I promised you.

I used two homemade linen table runners and my blue Tine K Home napkins (that I made a homemade candle out of, which I unfortunately forgot to use together with the matching napkins)
I also decorated each napkin with a wood anemone, which I also had in a couple of small vases on the table.

I like to keep the table simple but still have a few details that catches the eye, something lovely napkins and flowers does very well I think.

I hope you like it, and that it might inspire you next time you are setting a table.
You can see more pictures of the table here if you like.

Have a wonderful Monday, everybody
