{ Table setting: Summer delights! }

Simple, airy & serene are the keywords for a summery table setting. The only thing you actually need to make a table look summery and delightful, is to add some wild flowers from your latest walk or some beautiful garden flowers...

I like to create a pretty table when we´re having dinner, but I do like to make it more casual on weekdays. But napkins and fresh flowers are always a must!

A salad adds color to the table as well...

Normally I use a lot more colors on my table setting during the summer, but at the moment I´m in love with WHITE and grey - they give me the feeling of living in a summerhouse by the sea, and what can be better than that? *smile*

Enjoy GOOD and delightful moments...

{ "Glansdagen" - A Fabulous day! }

Oh my! What a day I had at the blog meet up: "Glansdagen" in Oslo this Saturday. I can´t thank the lovely NIB girls enough for this memorable day. Everything was planned down to the smallest detail and you deserve every praise for the work you have put into this day.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos myself, but if you like to see pictures from this FAB blog-event, you can take a look here. I did take some photos of some of the things we got in our goodie bags though, and I feel very lucky to get so many beautiful things...oh joy!

You bloggers are exactly as sweet as you seem through your blogs, and it was truly fun to finally meet some of you in person. I will for sure be attending this event next year as well, but in the meantime I hope to see some of you lovely girls over a coffee or two. *smile*

With LOVE,
Nina

{ Painting wooden floors }

A lot of you asked me about our white painted parquet in the living room after I showed you some pictures yesterday, and instead of answering everyone of you I thought I could write about how I did it here...

First, I repaired the floor with a light sanding. Whether your wood floor is stained or previously painted, use sandpaper to lightly go over the finish so that the floor will accept the paint. Use a fine-grit paper for this process. I used nr. 180.
Then I vacuumed the floor before I washed it with a blend of ammonia and water. It´s important to remove all dirt, dust and oil before you start painting.

When the floor was completely dry, I started using a brush on the outer edges of the floor. Afterwards I used a roller attached to a painting pole and painted the rest of the floor. I painted 3 coats on our floor, but this will vary from floor to floor and from paint to paint.

The paint I used was a water-based paint called "Trestjerner". After doing a lot of research on what other have used and what they recommended on the "paint-shop", I was quite happy with this one - it was very easy to work with. I have actually started to paint a laminate floor out in the hallway with the same paint, as they say that you can paint them as well. I have 2 coats left, but I will tell you how it worked out when I´m done.

The color I used is called "White" and it´s only available in semi-gloss(40) I think. Anyway, that was the gloss on the paint I bought.

I hope this answered some of the questions that you had, but remember that this is only the description on how I did it. I´m just an amateur and this was the first time I painted a floor, so please talk to your local paint shop and ask for help. We have different kinds of painting from country to country, and there are probably different directions on how you should do it as well.

Good luck to all of you that are going to paint the floors - It WILL look amazing!!

Thank you so much for all of your comments on my last post - I´m glad you like our new WHITE living room. If you want to see more pictures, I have uploaded some on Stylizimo.com as well...

{ In my living room... }

Our new sofa has now arrived and our living is finally coming together. You have no idea how nice it was to sit down and relax in this comfy chaise lounge after a full week with painting - I´m exhausted!

The light in the living room is amazing after we painted the wooden floor, walls and room in crispy white! I love the brightness of the room - it feels very summery and delightful.
You can see some BEFORE pictures here if you like.

Our new sofa is from Home&Cottage and the Moroccan side table is from House Doctor. I bought the table used on Finn.no (Norway´s "Craigslist") and it was originally dark brown, but I painted it white as well as everything else *smile* - I love it!

In a few days I will attend on Norway´s biggest interior blog meet up called "Glansdagen". I´m very excited to meet some of you sweet girls, and I know that we will have a lot of fun - the agenda looks amazing. My only concern is; WHAT TO WEAR?? Oh, my,  I wish I though of this sooner...

Will I see you there?? Do you have your outfit(s) ready?

Anyway - I hope you like my new WHITE living room. More pictures to come.

{ A little sneak peak }

The last few days have I´ve been busy moving, and I´m finally getting all of our stuff out of their boxes and it starts to feel like a home. I´ve also started renovating, so the floor in the living room is now painted white, in addition to the all the walls. The difference is unbelievable and I think I´m in love with my living room...

I´m still waiting for some furniture so I can´t show you the whole room yet, but here you have a little sneak peak of the whiteness!

Thank you for each and every vote on my balcony btw. I actually won 2nd place, and I´m super happy!  It´s all because of you, and I´m very grateful that I have you as my readers.

Well.... it´s time to get back to work! I´ve have lots to do :)

Have FUN everybody! Enjoy your weekend

{ Oh, my - I´m a finalist! }

What a beautiful morning it is here in Oslo today! I´m almost done packing for our move on Wednesday, so today I´m going to take some time off and enjoy the lovely weather. We are actually invited to a barbecue by the sweet family of "Potrinas Potlerier". Do you read her blog? They just bought a beautiful house and I´m very excited to see it for the first time today. Maybe I´ll get some ideas for our new house as well...

In addition to be nominated as the "Best Trend Blog" by NIB (which you can vote for here btw), I discovered yesterday that I´m also a finalist in NIB´s "Garden/patio" challenge with the picture above. What a nice surprise! There are 9 other wonderful finalists, so if you like to give a vote for your favorite, you can do that here.

Two days until we move!! Oh, I can´t almost sleep at night - I´m so excited and I can´t wait to start making it our HOME!

A big hug for every congratulation on our new house and one more hug for all you that are taking time for voting on my blog - you are fantastic!

{ Living room - my plans }

I´m constantly thinking on how I want to decorate our new home, and to organize my thoughts I like to make inspiration boards/collages for each room, and I have it with me when I go shopping... That way I can visualize if something will fit in of not...

I´m planning on painting all the floors white, because I want to make it as bright as possible. I think this will make a huge difference to the rooms, and I´m very excited to see the result.
The color theme in the living room will mainly be in white, grey and black with hints of soft, dusty colors.

These are some of the things that I have on my wishlist for our living room. Hopefully some of my wishes will come true *smile*

Do you make collages etc. when you are moving to a new place or when you are planning to redecorate?

Have a happy weekend, beautiful people!

Thank you all for reading my blog! Without you I would never have been nominated in the first place.

Lots of love,

{ DIY: Outside table for sunny days }

Hello everybody! How are you? I´m enjoying the sun that is finally back after a lot of rainy and cold days. It´s nice to welcome summer and I hope it will last for a long, long time!

The other day I built myself a new table for our balcony so we can eat outside as well as relax in our pallet sofa. You can see how I made it here. I used the same driftwood stain on this one as I did on the dining table I made.

( Our balcony right now)

I have a big secret to tell you, but I will keep it to myself for a few more days. I´m very busy these days but I´ll try to pop by soon.

I hope you all are well, and that you are enjoying the summer.
Happy weekend eveybody!

xo,
Nina
