{ Before & After - Living room }

To remind myself that there has been a big change in the living room since we moved in a month ago, I´ve made a BEFORE & AFTER collage. It´s scary how soon you forget.

Oh boy! The white floor makes a huge difference don´t you think?
The walls were light beige, and the wall behind the sofa was grey. By painting everything white, our living room looks much bigger and brighter - don´t you agree?

So what do you think? Which one do you prefer?
You can see more after pictures of our living room here if you like.

Thank you for your comments on my last post - you warm my heart.

{ My sincere sympathy }

What a terrible, terrible weekend this have been. How is it possible that one man can do so much damage? I can´t believe it! .. So many lives, so many victims. It´s difficult to find words, but in all this sorrow it warms my heart to see that the nation stand together, and that we will never let such a horrifying act destroy us and our wonderful little country.

All my thoughts go to the families and victims of this tragedy.

xo,
Nina

{ Tips: Decorate with your shoes }

Do you remember my post "5 ways to decorate with a ladder" from last September? Well, I have used one of my own tips and have now displayed some of my shoes on a ladder. Shoes are pretty, so I think it´s a great idea to use them as decoration in a bedroom or a hallway.

And since we´re in our bedroom, I might as well show you my night stand too. As a reminder to live life well, I have this print that I´ve made out of a poem beside my bed. I love these wise words.

Click here and here, if you want more tips on how to use a ladder
And here you have some pictures of our last bedroom.

So what do you think? Is this ladder idea something you could go for as well?

{ TV bench - BEFORE & AFTER! }

I´m probably not the only one that thinks that the "TV-wall" is a bit complicated. I have been searching for a TV bench for a long time now, and I can´t seem to find one that I like for a reasonable price and at the same time goes well with our other furniture. Therefore I ended up buying a used TV bench for 500NOK($90) on Finn.no, and I gave it a little makeover.

The TV bench was originally in oak, so the color was kind of yellowish. I gave it two coats of driftwood stain so it became a bit greyer, and I painted the top in light grey. Afterwords I gave the top some light sanding so I could see the wood shine trough the paint, and I replaced the knobs with new ones to give it the look that I wanted.

So what do you think? Do you like my little makeover?

How is your TV wall? Are you happy with it?
Please share some pictures on Stylizimo.com if you want. I will publish some more pictures of my TV wall there as well in the next following days. I just realized that I haven´t taken any pictures of the bench from the front.

{ Summertime on the terrace }

I try to enjoy every second of the summer, and what could be better than an Iced mocha in the sun on your new terrace with a good magazine. This is relaxation as its best!

Wish you all a sunny and wonderful day!

{ 5 wallpapers to love! }

My "brother in law" sent me a link to the website "Scandinavian Surface" yesterday. Ever heard of them? I haven´t, and I was very happy when I discovered these fantastic wallpapers on their website.

Do you see the moose?

Even though I´m not a big fan of winter, I LOVE this last wallpaper.

In addition to wallpaper they also design: PanelPieces, MiniPieces and bags.

I have to say that it´s very tempting to try out one of these wallpapers. Do you see any you like?
You can see the rest of their collection here.

{ My new home office }

It´s time to invite you into my new home office, and since it´s a new office it also has a new look. My last home office had a touch of purple and I loved the way that it looked, but I needed a change so this time I have decorated it in black and white with hints of wood...

I have painted the floor and the walls crispy white, because I wanted a room with lots of light.
The white desk is one of my latest DIY, and I made it using the same method as the dining table I made for our apartment. But this time I painted it in white using a cloth instead of a brush so I can see the wood through the paint. The legs are from Ikea.

For storage I use some of my old wooden crates. They work great as shelves, and I like how the wood softens the black & white room.
Over the shelves I´ve made a little moodboard/inspiration board so I can get inspired when I work. I attached the pictures etc. with pins, a wire and different kinds of tape. This way it is easy to change the look of it.

(The black lamp is from my fiancés grandparents - I love the retro look it has!)

If you like to see some of the other home offices I´ve had, you can see them here (including 10 tips for your home office!), here, here and here.

I have uploaded a lot of pictures of my new home office on Stylizimo.com, if you like to see more and where everything is from.

I wish you an inspiring day!

{ Good moments }

New outdoor furniture is finally in place, and it´s time to enjoy summer! My mother was here for an early lunch today, and we had a wonderful time sitting in the sun...

I´m planning on painting the floor on our porch light grey, but I´m still tired from all the painting inside the house, so I guess it have to wait. I´ll rather enjoy our new house and garden for a while...

(my dear mom in the picture in the middle.)

The summer is really magical when we have moments like these, and I´m hoping for more magical days in the sun.

I hope that you are enjoying the summer as well...
