{ Inspired by trees }

Hello you lovely Friday, and hello to you. Yesterday was the most wonderful day, and it felt like summer again. I took my dog and my camera down to a little park by the river nearby and captured some photos of the beautiful trees dressed in Autumn. I have always had a thing for trees, and a few days ago I got an idea on how I can bring them into my home.  So this is my inspiration board...

{ "New" living room! }

It's unbelievable what some change of colors can do, and if you move some of the furniture as well, you have a completely new living room! I have now turned our couch around, and I have replaced all the grey with black.

It's funny have just simple things like this can change a whole living room, don't you agree?

{ Black & white home office }

As I told you a few days ago I needed a change in my home office, and this weekend I finally had the time to do the finishing touches of my new black and white home office. Here you have a little tour...

I love inspiration boards, and this time I've made one in black and white with pictures from magazines that I attached to the wall with washi tape together with some prints.

See how I made the "Home sweet home" picture here. ( The black text and chandelier is made using stamps )

I wanted more space so I could have both my computer and my sewing machine on the same desk. If I don't have my sewing machine readily available I never use it...

It's nice to have a home office that is more organized and I'm very happy with the result, even though I really liked my previous office.

I hope you like my new home office, and that it gave you some inspiration.

{ Before & After - lamp }

I asked you if my flea market lamp had any kind of value, but since nobody knew anything about it I took the liberty to paint it black. I know that a lot of you wanted me to keep it as is was, but gold isn't a color that fits well into my home I'm afraid. I also needed a black lamp for my office, so here is the result:

I'm very happy with the result, even though I thought it looked good in the beginning. I needed a black lamp, and now I got one for $3! *smile*

I know that it´s a bit too cold for most of us to sit outside and eat dinner, but I thought I would show you some more of the photos that I took for Heart Home magazine anyway. I know that a lot of my readers have a higher temperature than Norway has right now, so maybe these pictures give you some ideas on how you can set the table outside.

{ DIY - Antlers }

One of the hottest trends right now is the Japanese tape, and since I already have some of this tape, I replaced my real antlers with "tape antlers" in my home office - how hot is that? *smile*

 

 

You can easily remove the tape when you get tired of, and that suits me just perfect. That makes it very easy to work with as well...
The tape are available in all sort of patterns and colors, so it's only the imaginations that stops you.

I bought some of my tape at Konfetti shop (Norway), but you can get them also buy the tape at eg. cu·te·ta·pe.

{ Redecorating my office }

I have a constant need for change in my home,  and today it's time for my home office to be redecorated. Last night I went to Ikea and bought some new furniture, so I can be more organized as well as having more room to be creative.

 This is how my home office looks like now, but I need a longer desk and some drawers...

{ I need your help! }

In my previous post I told you that I'd wait to show you my other flea market lamp until I´d made a "Before&After" post, but then I suddenly realized that it could be a big mistake to paint a lamp that might be worth something. It´s probably not worth anything more than $3, which is what I gave for it, but I´d like to ask you first;  

Do you know anything about this lamp? 

 ( there´s a sticker underneath saying "Tibro hantverk")

Or do you think I should paint it?

 I wonder how it would look like in black...

{ Flea Market finds - Oh, joy! }

Yesterday I went to a couple of flea markets in my neighbourhood, and I was hoping to find some lovely furniture, but instead I took home some other nice stuff. My new treasures are an original Jac. Jacobsen lamp, a handmade blanket from India and a cool black frame... ( The print is from the latest ROM 1-2-3 magazine it describes my head today I guess... *smile* )

  
I bought one more lamp that I will show you later in a "before/after" post. I hope it turns out well though.
I also found a lovely crochet cushion cover that is in the sink for bleaching at the moment....

{ Shades of grey }

By looking trough some pictures of our new home I notice that grey is popping up in every room. I guess this is our main color in our house right now... Do you have a main color in your home?

So, any great plans for this weekend? I´m planning to go to a few flea markets this weekend and hopefully I will find some treasures. Other than that I will sleep off my let lag - I´m soooo tired!

It´s live - Heart Home magazine!

Hello everyone! I´m now back in Norway after an amazing holiday in New York - what a great city! I truly had the best time although I´m very exhausted after walking around for nearly six days (!)

Anyway, today is a big day! The new and fabulous e-magazine Heart Home magazine is finally live, and it´s full of inspiration.

New York is amazing although today is a very sad day. It´s kind of awkward to be in NY 10 years after 9/11. Today is the day of remembrance.

{ How do we decorate our dining table? }

That is the question Silje is asking. She has a challenge going on her blog, and she wants to see how we decorate our dining table when we are not eating. I think this a great question/challenge as I have many times been wondering about this myself...

On my dining table right now I have a linen table runner, a silver plate, two ceramic vases, a plant and some fruit. ( I don´t know the name of the fruit, but it´s very decorative.)

Yes, I know that it´s just early September and that it´s way too early for Christmas inspiration, but when I saw H&M Home´s Christmas collection 2011 today, I just had to share a little peek of what we can expect this Christmas.

"White and shiny"- that is the keyword for this year´s collection...

{ A photographer's bliss! }

In two days I´m going to New York on a little vacation. I have never been there before, so I am really looking forward to experience the city - I know I will have a blast!

I do love to take pictures when I´m on holiday, and I have a feeling that there will be a lot of things to capture in NY. But the thing is that I´m not the kind of person that wants to look like a tourist and I dislike to carry the regular photo bag with me. Normally, I put my camera in my handbag but I guess that´s not very smart with an expensive camera, is it? Fortunately I came across the fabulous photo bags on the website Fotobag.no, and yesterday I received a lovely new bag just in time for my trip. The bag looks like a regular handbag but with added protection for my camera, so now I can walk around the streets of NY looking stylish even though I have my photo gear with me - Genius if you ask me!

You should definitely take a look at their website as they have lots of goodies for your photo gear. I bet you want to look stylish as well whenever you are bringing your camera with you *smile*.

If you have any good recommendations/tips for my NY trip, I would love it if you could share them with me. Great places to eat, things to see beside the regular stuff, shopping tips etc. would be much appreciated.
