IKEA outdoor furniture 2012

The summer news will soon arrive IKEA's warehouses, and we have a lot to be excited over. It looks like they have something for everyone either you fancy lots of colors, or prefer it more toned down.

Are you looking for new outdoor furniture this year? I need some at our front porch, and I after seeing their IKEA´s news I have some ideas of what I want.

Stylizimo in Ikea Live Magazine!

A pleasant surprise came in my mailbox yesterday. I got two freshly printed issues of the Ikea Live Magazine, where there are two full pages with pictures of our home, together with an interview.
It´s like you see your home from another perspective when you see it in a magazine. It looks better in a way. Maybe it´s because there are no clutter and everything is on its right spot in the pictures. That is not the way it is in real life folks *smile*. 

Anyway, don´t forget to look after their Live magazine next time your at Ikea ( in Norway )!

Spring on the terrace

What a wonderful spring weekend! I'm sure my neighbours thought I was crazy when I was cleaning our terrace and outdoor furniture 10 am on a Sunday morning at 0 degrees in February!(*smile*), but here it´s all about seizing the day and enjoying every ray of sunshine while it's here. It was so nice to finally sit outside on our terrace again. We even barbecued our dinner yesterday - how awesome isn´t that for February in Norway?

Anyway, today it is back to reality; It´s snowing and the terrace is once again covered with snow. I guess we have to wait a bit longer for springtime. We have at least had a little preview of what´s ahead of us.

Happy colors!

If you are looking for happy colors and happy patterns, Indiska is a great store to visit if you are in Norway, Sweden or Finland. Their colorful bohemian style is very lovable, and when I see their collection for spring 2012, I know that I have to pay them a visit very soon. Look at these fabulous colors!

That lovely pillow will certainly will give any home a wonderful splash of color. And how cute is that turquoise Buddha?

 

Most of all I love their XL mugs - they are perfect for a big cup of tea.

Bamboo love

I don´t know if you have noticed, but products made of bamboo is real hot these days and what really amazes me are all the different products you can get out of this material. For example towels and soap made of bamboo was totally new to me until BadaBoom wanted to advertise on my blog. I was curious about their products so I´ve tested both their soap and towels, and I can´t say other than I´m now a bamboo lover as well!

BadaBoom´s special handmade soap is made from natural ingredients only, and are deep cleansing while eliminating impurities in the skin. It also works perfect as a make-up remover! The soap is made ​​of carbonized bamboo powder with honey and comes in a stylish black design, which is a perfect fit for me.

Their towels are a story for themselves. I have never had such soft towels before - they feel like silk against my skin! I had no idea that bamboo could be this nice. So if you are are looking for soft towels that additionally absorbs well; this is it! ( PS! I´m actually NOT paid to say this *smile* )

Thank you to the two ladies that quit their regular jobs, and took the big leap and imported these lovely products to Norway. I wish you the best of luck with your shop, and I bet you will make many customers happy.

Stylizimo loves: Desiree´s industrial apartment!

Today I want to feature one of the homes that you can find on Stylizimo.com. Each photo she uploads is simply stunning, and I love every single one of them. Her home is decorated with Scandinavian design, graphic prints, French antiques and natural elements and she does it so well. Yes, I´m talking about Desiree with the well known blog Vosgesparis. Let´s have a tour in her beautiful home..

I love how she has kept some of the concrete look on the walls - it´s very effective. Also note how she uses the light to make the hallway look more interesting. So beautiful!

Pictures don´t necessary have to hang on the wall. Create an exciting look by putting them on the floor, or on a furniture like Desiree has done here in her living room.

Black is the new white!

This is Desiree´s wonderful workspace. It´s simply gorgeous with its mix of French antiques, modern shelving with prints/photographs and the industrial wall. 

Don´t you just love how she displays everything? Every item has its perfect spot.

Quite impressive right? She is very good with the details, and I love how she thinks outside the box so it gets its own personal style. Isn´t that hanging clothing rack the coolest for example?

1-2-3 new vases!

In walking distance from our home we have a charity shop (Fretex) that I often visit to see if there is anything I can take home. I have for a long time wanted some black small vases, and since I haven´t seen it anywhere else, I bought two flowery ceramics (not very pretty) vases here, that I gave a makeover with my black spray paint.

So now I´m a lucky owner of two black vases for a total of $4. I love a good bargain! *smile*

London trip

Our weekend in London was fantastic! It's so nice to have such a beautiful city like this nearby.
It was mostly sunny so we spent a lot of time walking around in wonderful Hyde Park. We also went to Notting Hill and visited some of the antique shops, as well as some other cute shops there - a charming ( but crowded! ) place.

Since the trip was meant for relaxing and having some quality time together we spent most of our time in parks, cafés and restaurants. But we did visit a few shops as well, and one of them was Anthropologie. I fell in love with Anthropologie when I lived in LA - it´s a fun and colorful store that is absolutely worth a visit.

A weekend pass quickly by in a big city like this, and I hope to explore some of the tips you came with next time I come to London. Hopefully I´ll be back soon.

HK Living - pure rustic!

Hello everyone! I´m back from London, and I had a fantastic weekend! What about you?
I´ll show you some pictures from my trip if they turn out to be okay, but first I have something else that I want to share with you. I instantly fell in love in HK Living after seeing their collection at the "Trade Fair" a few weeks ago. Their collection is mostly industrial, but has a unique freshness with all the colors. Different materials and bold color combinations makes it very interesting.

Maybe you have seen their gorgeous pendant lamps, or their cool button hooks if you live in Europe? HKliving is an home interior label founded and located in The Netherlands, but they have retailers in UK, Spain, Germany, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

So do you see anything you like? I love it all, but I really want their button hooks. Aren´t they just the coolest? Anyway, this is only a small selection of their collection, but you can see more here if you like.

A weekend in London!

Right now I´m sitting at the airport ready for a romantic getaway to London with my fiancé. It´s going to be great to spend the weekend in another city, and I´m of course very excited!
My dear blog friend Will, who´s an expert on London, have sent me a lot of tips on both nice interior shops and places to eat. Thank you so much, Will. I will definitely check some of them out!
Anyway, I hope to share some photos with you all when I come back.

If you have any last minute tips on what to do, and what to shop(!) in London, I will be happy to hear about them. I haven´t been to London for almost ten years so it feels like it is the first time *smile*.

A touch of spring

I don´t know about where you are, but here the the sun is shining the the sky is clear blue. All I can think about right now is spring. So to bring it on, I´m sharing these lovely corners with a touch of spring..

A combination of fresh pink and turquoise makes me happy!

I would love to have a hallway like this to welcome me home.

 

 It must be heaven to sleep in this flowery room. So sweet.

 

 Can´t wait to decorate our patio with spring flowers.

Some tulips really does the work. They really complete this room I think.

Table setting: Valentine´s day!

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? I hope it was good! The sun was shining here where I live, and it was great to get a little feeling of spring. 
Anyway, tomorrow is the day of romance and we should all do something nice for someone we love. Why not be a little creative and romantic with the table setting for example?

Take whatever you have and make a romantic theme out of it. I used a gift wrap to bring in the pink color. Then I decorated the glasses and the clothespins with a cute flowery washi tape. I also hang my "Love & Luck paper boat garland" that I bought from sweet Iro to make it extra festive and cosy. To make add an extra personal touch to it and to emphasize the love theme I wrote "You and me" using scrabble tiles. I guess the rest speaks for itself...

New table and yellow!

As I´ve told you before I wanted a new table that is round so it doesn´t take up too much space in our small living room. I have for a long time been searching for this Ikea table that I find really nice, but the thing is that it´s been taking out of production, so I had to find a second-hand one.

The best part of buying second-hand is that you´ll get a good price, so I ended up having some money left after selling the other one. That´s the way I like it! ( ...and that´s the way I can change furniture so often, in case you were wondering *smile*. )

After using it for some days now I can´t say that it´s not as practical as my big square coffee table. But I like the look of it as well as the room feels bigger now, and that is a big plus!

Funkytime Magazine - Valentine's Issue

Today it´s only one week until Valentine´s day and it´s time to plan something special for our loved ones. Sibylle, from the creative and lovely blog Funkytime, has made it easy for us; she has made this adorable e-magazine and her first issue is a Valentine´s issue that is packed with cute DIY projects and even a freebie that you can download. I guarantee that you will love it!

I have been following Funkytime for a while now, and I´m amazed by this girl´s creativity. She makes the cutest things, and presents them in a wonderful way as well.
