A little fairytale

I just realised that I forgot to show you Silje´s cute little nursery when I showed you pictures from their home last week. This room is like a candy shop - filled with the sweetest things that has the most adorable colors. I could spend hours in this place and just look at all the cuteness.

Isn´t this blanket lovely? I think it completes the room by gathering all the colors in the room.

Using pretty dresses as decoration is a great idea..

Children books, dolls, teddy bears and memories makes the room into a little fairytale.

I hope you enjoyed the little tour. You can see more of their beautiful home here if you missed it last week. I know you will love it!

I bet a lot of you have adorable children´s room as well. I would love to see them, and you are welcome to share them on Stylizimo.com, so we all can get inspired from it and get some ideas from each other.

Happy new week, everyone.

I have picked out some of my favorites to share here with you.

See the whole PS 2012 collection here.
What do you think of their new PS collection? Any favorites?

Happy weekend everybody

Before & After - Living room

I´m looking trough some pictures of our home for a new project I´m working on, and I stumbled upon these three photos of our living room from last year. It´s quite a change from how it looks right now, and I sort of miss our "old living room" and our way-to-big couch(!) when I look back. It looked really cosy didn´t it?

Not much black in these pictures comparing to how it looks like now *smile*. I guess I have to soften it up a bit before the summer arrives, so I can get the same summer feeling as I get by looking at these pictures.

Anyway, I hope these pictures will give you a little sunshine this Thursday.

Have a nice one!

A home with lots of LOVE and personality

Wow! It´s so much fun taking pictures of other homes than my own for a change. I see something beautiful everywhere and with "new" eyes... Here are some of the photos I took of Silje´s home yesterday...

This is what welcomes you in their hallway; a fabulous sofa they bought second-hand for a very nice price. It looks absolutely stunning with all the smashing pillows and the lovely rug in the front.

Up the stairs is their beautiful dining area.

From there you can see into their lovely white kitchen.

Their wonderful living room with its calm delightful colors. The big photo on the wall is taken by the talented photographer Nina G. Djærff - I absolutely LOVE it!

Silje is an artist and are painting the most wonderful paintings. Behind the couch you can see one of her many breathtaking works.

It´s not difficult to see that this girl knows to decorate a home. Just look at this cool wall!

I would definitely enjoy spending time in this bathroom. It gives me a true SPA feeling. I can tell you that it smells as good as it looks as well... *smile*

Their dreamy bedroom... and their dreamy Moroccan Berber wedding blanket.

More second hand treasures in the bedroom

This is a home with a lot of love and personality, and you can easily see that this girl has a passion for interior design. One of the things I love the most is that a lot of their furniture are second-hand and have gotten a makeover by painting them and reupholstered with new fabric. This means that it doesn't have to cost a lot of money even though you want a glamorous style like this one.

See the rest of the pictures that I took on Stylizimo.com. I bet you will find a lot of inspiration from their lovely home.

Indulge yourself...

On rainy days it´s important to spoil yourself a little extra. An ice coffee and a chocolate muffin always makes it a little bit better.... (?)

Today I´m going to visit a good friend of mine, and we are going to take some photos of her beautiful home. She will share them on Stylizimo.com, so you can visit their home too - so stay tuned. Maybe I´ll share some here on my blog as well (if she approves) *smile*

Wish you all a wonderful day. Rainy or not - it´s going to be a fabulous day!

Nature inspired bedding - Søvni UB

A few days ago I discovered this lovely bedding on Stylizimo.com trough Vibeke. It was love at first sight, and I knew right away that I wanted the same one for our bedroom as I love nature inspired design.

I got even more excited when it turns out that company that sells the bedding is four energetic students from the entrepreneurship program at Adolf Øien high school in Trondheim.
Søvni UB wants to show that it is important to create values in the community. They sell beautiful bedding, with nature inspired design. Their profit goes into the Søvni fund, where private persons can apply for support to treatment with "Norsk Mestring". Their purpose is to give everyone the opportunity to get back on their feet and back in work.
Well done, students!

Now I´m looking forward to get the bedsheets in my mailbox....
Read more about their company here.

Reuse and a good bargain!

I have to share my latest finds from the goodwill shop. I´m over-excited about my new things, and I can´t believe this costed me only $10! I love a good bargain. Don´t you?

There was actually one more thing including in the price, but I´m going to make a "Before & After" post of it (if it works out well.. ).

Do you often check out goodwill stores to see if you can find anything you can reuse?
Anything you are looking for right now?

Wish you all a FAB weekend!

Visiting "Fruen fra Trondheim"

It's always fun to see a home in real life when you have only seen pictures of it on a blog. Marthe, her boyfriend and their two children live in an old house that they have been renovated for almost 2 years by now. I am so impressed with all the work they have put in the house and the fact that they have done almost everything themselves. Now there are few traces in the house that indicate that the house is old.
You should visit her blog and see all the work that they have been doing. It´s amazing!

A hint of yellow makes it fresh and more modern. I love it!

It's nice that you can find good friends through blogs. Marthe is that kind of girl that you like immediately - so warm, funny and welcoming, and with the wonderful freshly baked bread she had prepared to the salad we got yesterday, I liked her even better! *smile*
Sweet Anne Grete and Linda with the webshop Hviit was was joining us for lunch as well. It´s always nice to meet these adorable girls!

Thank you for inviting me, Marthe.

Color of the year?

Green has been named to this year's color here in Norway by Fargerike, and the good thing about green is that there are so many lovely shades of this color. Here is a palette of colors including green which I find very beautiful!

What do you think of the color green? Any particular shade you prefer?
Maybe you have the color green already in your home, and want to share some photos of it on Stylizimo.com? I would love to see some more rooms decorated in this color.

The photoshoot went very well yesterday btw. It was so fun seeing how the professionals do it - I learned a lot both about styling and photography.

Birthday girl!

33 years ago, on a Friday, I entered this world. Little did I know then that I would love home decoration so much! In Norway we say that one is born with skis on, but I on the other hand was born with a passion for interior design! *smile*

Thank you to everyone who follows me here, and to those of you that is a member on Stylizimo.com.
I am so grateful that I can work with what I love the most ... and it's YOU that makes it possible!

Happy weekend!

Lots of love,
Nina

TIPS: How to find out what to wear

Wow! What a feedback on my Magazine cover! You are amazing, my friends... How can I ever thank you enough? Thank you, thank you, thank you...!

Are you that kind of person that have problems to find out what to wear? I am! On Ikea, the other day, I found this curtain rod on sale and it made be think of an idea; Why not hang clothes on a pole with jewellery and scarves etc, so you easily can find something that matches. Then you have your outfit ready until the next morning. This way you can plan what to wear many days in advance.
For me this is brilliant, as I spend too much time in front of my wardrobe *smile*

My first magazine cover!

I have to admit that I got really excited when I heard my living room made the cover of the 03/12 issue of the German interior magazine “20 Private Wohnträume” (“20 private dream homes”). I`ll show you some more photos from the article when I get the magazine, but here you see the cover of the magazine - taken by me. Oh joy! *smile*

I can see that my living room has become a bit more black and white since I took this picture. Here it actually looks a lot more fresh than it does now. Yellow brings so much sunshine into a home I think - maybe I should buy myself some yellow flowers again...

Anyway, thank you “20 Private Wohnträume” for choosing my photo as cover of your magazine. You certainly made my day!

Soften it up?

The Easter decoration is cleared away, and I´m back to black and white. All of a sudden I´m in need of change. I love the black and white but I need something to soften it down a bit. Maybe some natural hues and some more green plants would help? What do you think?

What colors do you have in your home right now?

3 cool chairs!

Hello! I hope you all had a great Easter. The holidays sure flies fast doesn´t it?
I stumbled upon these cool chairs the other day that I´d like to share with you. Industrial look is still in the wind, and if you are looking for a cool chair to fit the style, you might find one you like from House Doctor. Here you have 3 chairs that make my heart beats a little bit faster...

The cosy one...
The stylish one.
and back to school!

Cool right? I love chairs, and I wish I had the space (and money!) to have a lot of different chairs in our house. There are so many beautiful ones!

Do you have a favorite chair of all the chairs in the world? What is it like?
